PR Lighting enjoyed high visibility at this year’s Frankfurt Prolight+Sound Show — largely due to an inspired product showcase centred around their new AQUA waterproof moving heads. This was promoted heavily at the Show via banners and large posters in heavily populated areas of the concourses and walkways.
The AQUA 440 Beam, the waterproof version of the XR440 Beam, takes advantage of the popular new high output Osram 440W discharge lamp to deliver a punchy and parallel 3.1° beam. Lining up alongside was the AQUA LED 600 Spot, which in addition to offering protection against rain and humidity, maintains a perfect working temperature even in hot or cold conditions, making it ideal for permanent installation.
The ability of PR Lighting’s new IP44-rated enclosures to protect against splash water was demonstrated at their Frankfurt booth, where they continued to function in the midst of a fountain/water feature.
“This was an extremely popular item and we picked up orders for AQUA at the Show,” confirmed International Sales Director, Ernie Armas.
But AQUA was not alone among the new product releases. The Chinese manufacturer also previewed some other new items in Europe for the first time. These included: Phantom (440 BWS II), XLED 6007, Blinder 360 and Butterfly.
Phantom is a combined Beam, Wash and Spot housing a SIRIUS HRI 440W lamp with Colour Wheel (12 dichroic colour filters plus open); CMY linear colour mixing system; CTO; Fixed & Rotatable Gobo Wheels; Prism & Effect Wheels; Frost Filter; Zoom; Strobe and 540° pan and 270° tilt in respect of the head movement.
The XLED 6007 is built around seven of the Osram 60W RGBW 4-in-1 LEDs, and is again fully featured.
Blinder 360, as the name suggests, is a full rotation (360°) white light blinder, with 360 x 1W Osram LEDs as its source.
And finally the Butterfly is a versatile effect light, with six high-power Osram RGBW LEDs housed in six independently movable heads. Each of the five spot heads on the edge of the central disk can rotate individually between 0°~180° while the sixth, main disk rotates continuously. It also has a narrow 3.5° beam to produce a powerful mid-air effect, features electronic dimming and strobe, and is DMX512 wireless controllable.
PR Lighting were exhibiting alongside their German distributor, FoconShowtechnic. Stated FoconShowtechnicProduct Manager, Martin Hentschel, “PR Lighting’s Aqua Series marks a leap forward in technology — allowing you to take your imagination to practically anywhere with an IP rating. Both the Aqua 440 Beam and Aqua 600 Spot feature a robust design that will keep the elements like water and dust at bay.”
